I think they heard him say 'Fuck this - I'm outta here' - or something akin to that...

This video captures the moment a pilot escapes the fiery Amazon cargo plane crash that left five dead and five more injured. The footage shows the pilot jump from the cockpit onto the ground, just seconds after it overran a runway at Miami International Airport and crashed just before 2pm on Sunday.
He then quickly gets on his feet and rushes away from the fiery crash. The video was filmed by Olvin Henriquez, who was walking past the deadly crash with his family, including his 4-month-old daughter. The flight data ‌recorder and cockpit voice recorder have been recovered from the crash as the NTSB investigate. Prime Air Flight 7598 was on its third flight of the day, flying from San Juan, Puerto Rico to Miami. Videos of the landing captured the aircraft completely overrunning the runway by a quarter mile, moving at 129 mph, according to Flightradar24.

  1. I've watched two videos with commercial pilots analyzing the information publicly available about this flight, and both agree the plane came in fast and significantly above the standard glide path, and touched down ( eventually) far down a relatively short runway . I don't understand why they didn't just decide to go around and try again when they knew their approach sucked .

Was it the same pilot? Was he half asleep after a long day?
