Olympic athletes have come out in force to condemn a sports betting advert featuring actor Sydney Sweeney in various states of undress, while showcasing the real skill, strength and beauty of women’s sport. The campaign, for US sports prediction market company Novig, depicts Sweeney in minimal to no clothing while she pretends to play several different sports.
It has been widely criticised for exualising women’s sport'. with retired Olympic swimmer Ariarne Titmus saying she thought this type of “bullshit” marketing was a thing of the past.
The reality is that these self-same athletes will put on makeup and dress up in fancy outfits for a special ocasion. What is the difference between wanting to make yourself look good and using a good looking woman to promote a product or service? We live in a world wherein everybody has to have an opinion. Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar is taking her battle against President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown to a whole new level. The Minnesota progressive is introducing legislation called the “Make ICE Pay Act,” which would claw back nearly $140 billion previously approved for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection and redirect the money to communities affected by federal immigration enforcement.
The money Omar wants to target came from Trump’s massive tax-and-spending law and was intended to dramatically expand immigration enforcement, detention capacity and border operations. Omar’s proposal would instead create a three-year grant program administered through the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s inspector general, sending money to state and local governments, nonprofit organizations and small businesses.
All of this as her own in-Country status is under investigation. Go figure...

ReplyDeleteA statistical analysis of the 71 draft number lottery showed beyond doubt that the numbers were not drawn randomly. December was loaded last (January first), and the balls weren't randomized after loading. December birthdays were drawn first, and so on. Effectively the later in the year your birthday was, the lower (worse) your draft number. It was a complete and easily proven failure of fairness. In an of itself, a perfect reason to take every legal opportunity to avoid service - totally aside from the many and obvious problems of that war and the horrific Democrat leadership that got us into it.
