A GOP lawmaker has ignited a political food fight with Senator Elizabeth Warren after telling Americans upset about soaring prices to “stop whining” and eat ramen. The Texas Republican doubled down on his remarks Thursday as Warren seized on the backlash to accuse the GOP of failing voters struggling with everyday costs.
The clash erupted in Washington after a complaint from a college student that “a burrito shouldn’t cost $20” spiraled into a wider argument over affordability. Crenshaw, 42, jumped into the debate on X late Wednesday with a message aimed at those complaining about the price tag.
“Stop whining, get a job, eat Ramen like the rest of us did in college, on a budget with 4 roommates,” he wrote. He argued that consumers could not dictate what businesses charged, adding, “The market doesn’t care what you think something ‘should’ cost.”
