This poor bastard baring his soul is from a scene from the 2003 romantic comedy Love Actually, where the character Mark, played by Andrew Lincoln, uses cue cards to silently profess his love.
This divisive scene has been described by some as both "creepy and sweet" due to the character's unrequited feelings for his best friend's wife. The director, Richard Curtis, has expressed regret over the scene in recent years, noting it has aged differently in a modern context.
