I guess this is the reason so many people watch auto racing...

Driver Igor Fraga’s vehicle went airborne for just five laps into the Fuji GT 300km. His car was clipped by another driver and went airborne, and he was taken to hospital following the accident. The Japanese-Brazilian (that's a helluva combination, isn't it?) spun on the track after a collision with two other drivers before his car took off.

As other drivers continued at full speed, Fraga’s Nakajima Racing car landed on its roof, rolled over, hit the side, and then flipped. It continued to slide after landing with the wheels falling off and bits of the body ripped apart. The race was immediately stopped as cars drove past near the starting line. It had already been operating under safety car conditions due to a wet track. The ground was soaked after pre-race rain – but things got better before Fraga’s accident.
