Before Disney World swallowed up Florida tourism, road tripping families pulled off the highway near Ocala to visit a full blown Wild West town, complete with staged gunfights and a real steam train.
Six Gun Territory opened in 1963 and for a while it was one of the most popular attractions in the entire state.
Visitors rode a train that was ambushed by costumed outlaws, watched cowboys tumble off balconies in noon time shootouts, and wandered a frontier main street of saloons and shops, all in the middle of the Central Florida scrub. It was gloriously over the top, the kind of place where a kid could get a tin sheriff's badge and believe, just for a day, that Florida was the Old West.
When the interstate rerouted traffic and the big theme parks arrived, attractions like Six Gun Territory faded fast. It was a popular 200-acre, Wild West-themed amusement park located in Silver Springs (near Ocala), Florida. It opened on February 2, 1963, and closed permanently on January 1, 1984, later replaced by a shopping plaza.

Do you have gout like I do?
Black cherry concentrate does one thing, and only one thing. It eliminates Uric
Acid in your system - that's all it does. And it works better than any drug any
doctor can prescribe. If you have gout, buy a bottle and take two a day, that's all.
See for yourself if it doesn't work. Trust me - it does. Click the picture.
