An ex-con climbed an eight-foot barbed wire fence at a Florida airport and made his way onto a parked JetBlue plane, where he took an overnight nap last weekend. Samuel Prescott Lackey, 32, was slapped with a slew of felony offenses over the bizarre break-in at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Aug. 1.
Lackey was caught on surveillance footage walking along a service road near the airport before hopping an eight-foot fence and walking into a hangar, the Broward County Aviation Department said in a statement.
He then allegedly climbed portable stairs left against a JetBlue aircraft for maintenance workers, boarded the plane and hid in a lavatory. According to investigators, the plane’s door had been left open while it was parked at the JetScape hangar during overnight maintenance work.
During a routine interior inspection the following morning, JetBlue employees found Lackey asleep inside the plane...
