But it musta been fun to watch...

Frank Sinatra and Ava Gardner shared one of Hollywood's most explosive, passionate, and turbulent romances. They married on November 7, 1951, just 72 hours after Sinatra's divorce was finalized, and remained an iconic, tempestuous pairing until their official divorce in 1957.
They first met at a club when Gardner was married to Mickey Rooney, and began a passionate affair in Palm Springs while Sinatra was still married to his first wife, Nancy - they married in Philadelphia just days after Sinatra's divorce. In '57, they separated amid intense media scrutiny, career shifts, and heavy public and private volatility, finalizing their divorce that year. Their relationship was fueled by heavy drinking, jealousy, fiery fights, and deep devotion.

Despite splitting up, they remained close friends until Gardner's death in 1990. Sinatra quietly paid for medical travel later in her life and reportedly sent yellow roses to her home every year on her birthday.

  2. I doubt very seriously if their relationship was fueled by deep devotion, considering they were married six years total. I have work shirts that at last longer.
