At Arlington National Cemetery, funerals happen every day—up to 30 of them. And at every single one, an Arlington Lady is there.
The group started in 1948 after the wife of an Air Force general saw young service members being buried without any family present. She decided that would never happen again.
Today, volunteers from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard attend every funeral. They stand with the families, offer comfort, and quietly witness the final goodbye. No soldier, sailor, airman, or Marine is ever buried alone. A simple promise, kept for over 75 years.
More will die because of this. After selling us out to the world, Amy phony Bryant is begging congress for money to protect her and the other dirtbags on scotus. They should say hell no, not until they reverse the birthright citizenship order. But we all know congress is a bunch of butt kissers.

ReplyDeleteit is a rather neat place to say the least. my Dad is there along with my Mom. kind of weird in a way, as that is when we found out dear old dad had 2 navy crosses for valor. and a shitload of "battle stars" he never talked about it. he did talk about being scared shitless a few times. funny part is my brothers in law wore their army dress greens along with my brother. couldn't find mine.
ReplyDeleteand one of the 2 navy commanders asked me "why no navy guys ? " that when I told him my dad always called it "the fucking navy". when he talked about the navy. and he said to me, well, with all he had on his jacket, he earned the right to call it whatever he wanted too. also weird is how the staff "changed" when you told them you here for a funeral instead of a tour. like night and day difference .
