When a Crow passes away, other Crows have a “funeral” and gather to see what may have caused it  Researchers, including those at the University of Washington, have observed that crows engage in what is often called a “Crow funeral.” When a Crow passes, other Crows gather around , not out of grief, but to assess potential dangers. This behavior, studied as Crow thanatology, allows them to study the scene, identify predators, and learn which areas to avoid. 
By observing and sharing this information, Crows strengthen their survival strategies and 'pass on' important knowledge to their social group.
 

Okay - think about this just for a moment, then go do whatever. There's more than one person working at the University of Washington getting paid - and probably handsomely I might add - to watch a bunch of crows and come come up with crazy shit like this. Now, think about what you do/did for a living. These guy's jobs are literally for the birds. Where does one apply for that type position? Asking for a friend...
