I guess he just doesn't understand what the job title 'Editor' really means. In the real world, editors give assignments, assign reporters, and tell them how and what to report. 60 Minutes must exist in a vacuum where editors are puppets of the reporters, and used to edit out the shit that made people like police officers and DJT look good. That may have changed, and he just doesn't like the idea of truthful, accurate, unbiased reporting.
According to this interview he gave, Pelley, who was recently dismissed from the show, said CBS News’s editor-in-chief Bari Weiss had sent an email to his supervisor requesting changes be made soon before the airing of the segment in question. In the interview with the New York Times(of course) published on Sunday, the 68-year-old Pelley accused Weiss of injecting “falsehoods and bias” into programming. Pelley told the Times: “Two of the things in the email include, ‘Can we make the protesters look more violent?’
“Now, I’m paraphrasing. I don’t have the quote, but that’s what was communicated to me. And the other thing, Renee Good’s car. You need to describe her as driving toward the officer.”

If I remember correctly an officer did suffer injuries like a broken hip or something similar when she hit him with her car.
ReplyDeleteI worked with a few people who had opinions like that, but I didn't work with them for long.
ReplyDeleteSay it ... because she was driving toward an ICE officer. Pelley was just a hack propagandist if he wasn't willing to report factually. Better that he be unemployed.
