Want some money advice from an old guy? Listen up...

I have a smart phone - a Samsung. Wanna know how many finance and banking apps I have on my phone? Not a one. NADA. Zero. Why? It's simple. The technology behind that phone is so far advnaced beyond my capabilies, it's scary. Sure - I have FB and a few other things like weather apps and sports stuff, but nothing that involves my money - anywhere, in any form.
It makes me crazy to watch these fuckin' kids buying a Slurpee and cupcakes and paying for it with ApplePay or some other banking app. Ya know - most of 'em have a password memory thing too, so they don't have to access the roadblocks put there to protect them.
Lose your phone? You are F-U-K-T. Next thing ya know, all your money went to a crypto account in Belize or some shit.
Here's the original article that headline came from. If you do own an iPhone, ya might wanna take a look.

Here's a side note for ya. Pretty much any time you see me post something I've 'lifted' online and re-worked or crafted to my use here - like that headline, it's linked to the original article, so you can go to the original that way also. That's how I protect myself from being called a thief of copyrighted materials. I credit the author or publisher that way.

  1. Same for me here, a 75 year old geezer. I bought a new S25 just this week, but have not activated any of the many dangerous 'features'. I don't even have my screen locked: there's nothing on there that anyone could want.
I was a hacker back in 1979 (it was my job), I embarrassed the sh.t out of IBM who was lying to its customers about their security: mission accomplished. I learned a lesson back then: ANYONE with enough effort and talent and brains (that I used to have back then 😂 ) CAN and WILL be able to break into a computer system.

  2. Now and again I am asked if I have my data backed up. I reply, "Absolutely, and I can read it with a candle".

  3. I don't have any financial apps on my phone either because of the simple fact that computers are no longer a hacker's number one target, smart phones are! I also don't allow my computer to remember passwords.

  4. People really put their banking on their phones? Freaking hilarious.

  5. The only money apps I have are on my desktop PC, and I'm sure that one of these days, it's gonna smoke and that will bite me square in the ass.
I keep my smart phone as dumb as possible when it comes to money.

  6. I agree, I have a Motorola smart phone and no banking apps on it. I've never used it to log into any of my financial accounts either. You loose it and you're screwed!
