President Trump tipped a DoorDash driver with a $100 bill after she delivered two bags of McDonald’s to the Oval Office this afternoon. The worker, identified by the company as Sharon Simmons, handed Trump’s favored fast food to the commander-in-chief on the colonnade outside the West Wing.
“This doesn’t look staged,” joked the president, who used the delivery to promote his “no tax on tips” initiative with the 2025 filing deadline two days away for most Americans. When asked if Simmons got a good tip, the president reached into his pocket, pulled out the Benjamin and handed it to her. “Yes,” she replied.
Simmons, sporting a red t-shirt reading “DoorDash Grandma” told the president his delivery order contained “your favorites.” The bags were filled with cheeseburgers and fries, the White House said, adding that “the food was graciously delivered by the President to his West Wing staff.” Trump has said previously that his favorite meals from the Golden Arches include the Filet-O-Fish sandwich, Big Macs, french fries, and a chocolate shake.
During the 2024 presidential campaign, Trump famously served french fries and worked the drive-thru of a franchise in Feasterville-Trevose, Pa.
