Protesting the protestors...

Every time we see one of these anti-ICE or 'No Kings' (whatever the fuck that even means) or some other lame-ass friggin' protest, there's always these kinda mutants. It begs to question - if you are serious about changing what you're protesting against, why would you diminish (or remove, really) your credibility by dressing like a toy dinosaur or putting yourself in baby jail, or any of the other eight thousand stupid outfits these people play in? It bogles the mind. Well, mine, anyway. I just can't take 'em seriously when I see this kinda foolishness. Not that I'd take 'em seriously if they dressed proper-like, but...

I always like this guy's drawing style as well as his editorial point of view,
but this one's past me from yesterday. What did I miss in the news?
I have no idea what the reference is.

A senior Iranian official said his government’s representatives have no plans to meet with senior U.S. negotiators headed to Pakistan for talks.

“No meeting is planned to take place between Iran and the U.S. Iran’s observations would be conveyed to Pakistan,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said.

Another idiot aspect of social media eroding our social skills.

This whole idea of a 'livable wage' is bullshit start to finish. There is no such thing. What you make is what you make. In poor countries, people live on the equivalent of two dollars a week. They don't live well, but they're alive. This is just another of those pie-in-the-sky Lib-talk concepts that feels good when they say it, but when you disect it, it's meaningless.
I harken back to the late fifties. Mom didn't work 'cause there were three boys in the house. My Dad at the time was a Sergeant on the Newark PD. He was also an assistant manager at a Dairy Queen (full-time) and he helped my Uncle Warren with painting jobs on the side of his two full-time jobs. Which one of those jobs provided him with a 'living wage"?

15 powerful agricultural spray drones were stolen in a suspected coordinated heist in New Jersey last month. A report from The High Side claimed the FBI is investigating the theft amid fears the machines could be used to disperse dangerous materials. Agricultural drones are built for precision and designed to disperse large amounts of liquid over targeted areas using programmed GPS routes.
That same capability has troubled counterterrorism officials since the post-9/11 years, when fears centered on crop-duster planes flown by a lone pilot. Experts told The Hide Side that there could be 'ridiculously bad' consequences and 'a potential nightmare scenario' if terrorists get their hands on the machines.

Ya really have to wonder how much longer it'll be before he goes over to the other dugout and changes his uniform, or at the very least goes up in to the stands to watch the game from a distance as an independent. Juss' sayin'...

  1. As noted, correlation is not causation. How big of sample are we talking about? If it's a small group of 100, it could be something. If it's 1000 or 10,000 then it's more likely just the laws of averages concerning human mortality and accidents. The deaths have occurred over the course of a few years, not days or months.

  2. Liveable wage adjacent: The big joke I find is "affordable childcare". Implied is quality. If you have toddlers, what's the quality teacher to toddler ratio? 1 adult for 4 kids? 5 kids? Okay, say 5 kids. Ignoring benefits, taxes, rent, and utilities, the teacher alone needs 20% of your income for their liveable wage. Add the non-labor components, and we're closer to 30% to 40% of what you earn. It is impossible to have affordable, quality childcare.

  4. Dead Sea, Lot's wife, asking directions is 2 men and a baby: Why Did God Really Destroy Sodom And Gomorrah?
Jude 7 says sexual immorality and unnatural desire: "... just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire." https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Jude+7&version=ESV

LOT'S WIFE: turned around to look at what God was doing & was turned into a pillar of salt because she ignored her husband's warning.
