One that went right over my head...

I fell for this hook, line and sinker...

On Sunday, March 29, the Aldi official Instagram account shared a post that read “Breaking: Aldi to embrace midwest roots with rebrand to Aldi’s.” The post featured a photo of an Aldi store with updated signage that read “Aldi’s.” In the caption, the account wrote: “Exciting news! More info coming this week. #ALDIs.“ The chain was seemingly referencing an oft-discussed phenomenon where people add an “s” to the store’s name - a habit usually associated with the Midwest.
A Reddit post from 2024 highlights this quirk. “Why do people say aldis when it’s just Aldi (no 's' at the end)” asked one user. The top response explained: “I’m from ohio and this is something most people i know do. not just to aldi, but also to kroger, jcpenney, etc. it’s common in the midwest from what i’ve heard.”
Since posting about the potential name change, the brand has doubled down on the “Aldi’s” posts. One post included an image of an airplane in the sky pulling an “Aldi’s” banner that appeared to have been either photoshopped or AI-generated.
Boy - do I feel stupid.

Psychologists say the reason some people seem to barely age while others decline rapidly after 60 isn't genetic luck...
It's that the ones who stay vital never let go of three things most people quietly surrender in their 50s:
a reason to be somewhere, a person expecting them, and something they haven't finished yet.

I didn't know Kuwait is a State - but it is, at least technically. The State of Kuwait (Dawlat al-Kuwait) is a sovereign country in Western Asia, situated on the Persian Gulf between Iraq and Saudi Arabia. It is a constitutional monarchy ruled by an emir, known for its significant oil wealth, high foreign national population, and independent political history. Only 30% of the people who lives there are actuall citizens. Weird data point.

Evidently, the 'markets' don't like what he had to say last.  As of 7:00am,
the Dow futures were down 600 points.

That's pretty subtle - in a sledge hammer kinda way.

A Florida woman thought her cat was just disappearing on Sunday mornings - turns out Deacon’s been attending church like he pays property taxes there.
For two months, he’s been slipping out early, crossing the street like he owns it, and casually walking into a local church before service even starts. No rush, no chaos, just vibes. Witnesses say he takes his usual spot in the back pew, sits through the entire service without making a sound, and occasionally stares out the window like he’s contemplating life choices - or lizards.
Pastor confirmed nobody questioned it because in Florida, if a cat walks into church and behaves better than most people, you just let it happen.
At this point, Deacon isn’t just attending -
he’s a regular. And honestly? Probably one of the most well-behaved members in the whole congregation.

The Boston #RedSox once painted the Fenway Park "Green Monster" red to try to break "The Curse of the Bambino". It didn't work...

This was the seen we saw last night at 6:35 on the nose. We were playing poker and all ten of us went outside to watch the launch, and thankfully it was an almost cloudless sky. My camera fucked up, though - this was taken by my friend Leslie from her balcony. It's pretty cool living close enough to Canaveral to see shit like this. The night before, another Starlink rocket went up. We saw that also.

Otherwise, it's a pretty boring sport.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced Tuesday that two Army pilots, previously suspended for flying Apache helicopters near Kid Rock's Nashville home, will not face punishment or further investigation. Hegseth took to X, stating, "Thank you @KidRock. @USArmy pilots suspension LIFTED. No punishment. No investigation. Carry on, patriots." This statement came hours after an Army spokesperson indicated the crew's suspension had been initiated to assess compliance with flight regulations during the incident, which occurred during a training mission.

Kristi Noem’s cross-dressing husband, Bryon Noem, paid online models up to $25 a minute to talk dirty to him - and was a “needy client” with an unusual kink for yoga pants, according to one of the women.
Noem, the long-time husband of the former Homeland Security secretary, was exposed this week for living a cross-dressing double life in the “bimbofication” fetish scene after the Daily Mail published salacious photos of Noem with massive fake breasts. Lydia Love, a webcam model on the website CamSoda, “definitely” remembers Noem’s face but said “there’s no way I could ever forget the fake boobs,” she told the Times of London of the 56-year-old father of three, who was one of her regular clients.

  1. They say it takes about 100 dedicated hours to lay down the foundations of spelling, reading, and basic math. Everything beyond that is build upon those CRITICAL foundations. So what is the rest of the K-12 prison sentence? A jobs program for folks who would otherwise not be able to be gainfully employed. A very true statement in the second panel of the cartoon. The structure of modern government monopoly day prisons that masquerade as schools (and sadly far too many private schools that mistakenly copy their model), is more about COMPLIANCE than about actual learning. But of course the vast outperformance of nearly every homeschooled kid already shows the truth of that.
