It may be a much bigger problem than we know...

The traditional American work ethic - the one we grew up with - is not necessarily "dead," but it is evolving rapidly because of generational shifts, technology, and post-pandemic 'priorities', leading to a decline in traditional, rigid, and long-hours approaches. Younger workers (Gen Z/Millennials) prioritize 'work-life balance' and mental health, with a shift away from performative work toward efficiency and flexibility. Gen Z is seen as "killing" the old, performative, always-on-call work ethic our parents instilled in us by setting stricter boundaries, focusing on results rather than hours.
According to some analysts, there is an increased prioritization of mental health, meaningful work, and flexibility over job security and salary. The rise of remote work, social media trends like "lazy girl jobs," and a desire to avoid 'burnout' have contributed to this shift.
What I view as a decline in effort, others see as an elimination of unnecessary work - working only to the requirements of the job description. The labor force participation rate has shown a long-term decline from 67.5% at the turn of the century to around 62.3%, indicating a potential lessening of overall workforce commitment.
All this analysis bullshit aside, what it amounts to is there's gonna be less innovators going forward when you have a government that rewards slackers with shit like a $ 20.00 minimum wage for working the cashier window at a drive-thru.

Everybody's busting DJT's nuts for gas prices going up because of this Iran/Hormuz shit, but they tend to forget that when Joe Biden was inaugurated in 2021, the national average for a gallon of gas was roughly $2.39–$2.42. Prices had already begun rising from 2020 lows as pandemic restrictions eased and demand rebounded. Gas prices jumped to a record average of over $5 per gallon in June 2022, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which heavily disrupted global energy markets, and nobody busted Joe's balls, citing instead 'world market trends'.

It's kinda fucked up that people go out to bars and sit there staring at the TV. If that was all you wanted - to watch some jerkoff ladies golf match with no sound, you coulda done that at home. Why take up a perfectly good bar stool to be uncommunicative when a major babe could be sitting there instead - know what I mean? One of my greatest pet peevs - especially here in The Villages. Don't get me wrong - I know why these old geezers do it (to get away from the old lady), but it still pisses me off.
Then again, an awful lot seems to be pissing me off lately...

This is the knife I carry every day of my life.
And I've been carrying this same knife for 60 years.
My Dad gave me my first one when I was in the Boy Scouts.
Take a look at this knife and see if it wouldn't be the perfect pocket knife for you also.

Nutella just launched its first new flavor in its over 60-year history, inspired by a 'classic combination'. Nutella Peanut is here, marking the brand’s first new flavor since its debut, and it’s now available nationwide. According to their press release, 'The new spread blends the “unmistakable creaminess” of Nutella’s hazelnut-cocoa spread with the taste of roasted peanuts, creating a nostalgic yet new flavor for fans.'
Fuck - if they'da asked me 40 years ago when I was binging on PBNJ's I'da hipped 'em to the concept back then. Now, the only problem with this is,  you won't get the two different tastes sensation - it'll be a third,  blended taste.
Jury's still out of this.

It's a case of 'selected outrage'.
Against his own President, too.
Or is he no longer American...

Okay. Maybe you think I'm a jerkoff for finding this funny, but fuck it - I do. Not the least of which is if I never hear the word 'influencer' again I'd live a happier life.
These so-called influencers are just a bunch of fuckin' hacks who don't have real jobs and think what they think about shit is important  - know what I mean? AND - if you're the kind of person who follows one of these morons, well, good luck with having any sembelence of a fuckin' brain. Juss' sayin'...
