This is why it's almost impossible to believe anything you read on the internet. Take daycare - that's only if the parents, or in a lot of families these days (like my next door neighbor) a grandparent watches the kid (s). As for housing, how - and why - is that even factored in to the equation? That figure assumes a housing cost - rent or mortgage - of nearly $ 1,000.00 a month. If the kid lives with the parent, the actual cost is zip. How does a kid rack up $1,500.00 a year in travel expenses - especially until the kid's old enough to drive themselves? Again - shouldn't be factored in.
Health insurance for a kid costs $ 1,500.00 a year? Okay - maybe, but the parents would be better off putting that money in a cookie jar. Again - a seemingly bullshit number.
See what I mean? Imagine being so fuckin' stupid - or gullible - to buy in to the premise that it cost that much to keep a kid until he or she is old enough to get kicked out of he house. Juss' sayin'...
Cost of raising a child tops $300K, unless you are an invader or on welfare. The cost is still $300,000 but not to them, that cost goes to the taxpayers. And the idiots-in-Washingmoney and the media cant understand why regular citizens have only 2.1 kids while the freeloaders have 14-15. Duh.

ReplyDeleteMaybe if people lived within their means it wouldn't cost so much anyhow. I agree counting housing is stupid they live with you. You don't get charged extra when you have kids. I live in a 3 bedroom apartment by myself. y daughter moved out and guess what? My rent didn't go down because she moved out. I do think the food cost can vary with teenage boys.
