Fuck them and the horses they rode in on. We need them like we need more fingers...

Trump pulling the US out of Nato would be among the “worst crises in the alliance’s history” and spark months of panic, and it should. The US has the majority of the pact‘s nuclear weapons, tanks, aircraft and troops meaning if Trump was serious about leaving for good then the battle to replace America’s military might would be impossible.
Their failure to recognize the threat that Iran posed to themselves is unthinkable, terribly naive and just plain stupid. They've let so many of them burka-wearing goonies in to their own countries - are they afraid somehow of insulting the people who are systematically stealing - and destroying - their heritages? THE UK alone has almost 1,00 masques already and Shariah courts number well over 100 just in England alone. Look at France and Germany and Italy and almost everywhere else.

They're letting themselves go to shit and depending on us to protect them from outside threats? Fuck 'em. When we need them to work with us they refuse, so vice-versa, motherfuckers. Just think about how much money we'd save. Juss' sayin'...

  2. If for political reasons you want to US to leave or remain in NATO that is fine. Both positions have their merits.
Looking at this with unbiased/independent political eyes If the US pulls out of NATO it will be bad for everyone but Russia.

The US is by far the biggest NATO member. The US represents about 60% of the NATO military spending. That means that the roughly $1trillion Pentagon budget is about 60% of the DEFENSIVE military capabilities we have at our disposal today. If we leave NATO and want to keep the same capabilities we have today we would have to increase our military spending by $600 billion annually. Our country has uncontrolled deficits and debt, the incremental $600 billion for the Pentagon are not an option and therefore we will have a less capable defensive force than we have today. There are not two ways around this fact.

NATO is organized in a way that maximizes each countries capabilities for the benefit of all members. For example the US has only heavy ice breaker and it is 45 years old. This is because Finland and Canada have fleets that cover all of NATO needs. We have not spent money in ice breakers in 45 years because we didn't need to. Norway, Sweden, Finland possess superior training and equipment for combat in extreme cold-weather conditions and mountainous terrain compared to the U.S. military. Estonia is global leader in cyber defense. And so on with the rest of the countries.

If we leave NATO we will need to develop all these capabilities at home and pay for them. We will need to invest in ice breakers, extreme cold weather training and fighting, cyber defense, etc, etc, etc.

We can leave NATO tomorrow and I'm ok with it provided we understand it will not be free to us.

On the other hand is we leave NATO it is likely NATO will survive in some form. European countries still need NATO as a deterrent for Russia (the reason NATO was created). A European NATO still holds superior conventional power, but losing the US creates significant gaps in logistical, reconnaissance, and rapid-response capabilities.

Also we should expect some level of nuclear proliferation in Europe. We extended our nuclear umbrella over Europe to stop proliferation. We wanted to be the only ones with control of nuclear weapons. Out of 32 NATO countries only the US, France and UK have nukes. If we leave and take our nuclear umbrella with us then more countries will develop their own nuclear weapons. For countries like Germany, Italy, Poland, Netherlands and others it would take a few months to have a nuclear weapon. They already have the technology and knowledge. More nukes going around means a bigger chance they get used.

  3. NATO is a DEFENSIVE alliance.
NATO gets involved if one member is attacked. The ONLY time NATO's article 5 was invoked was by the US when we were attacked on 9/11. NATO responded and fought with us in Afghanistan from 2003 until we left in 2021. NATO was there to defend our country when we were attacked. Over 850 non US NATO casualties in Afghanistan, most coming from the UK, Canada, France, and Germany.

NATO is not an offensive alliance. NATO was not there when we decided to invade Iraq for no good reason and under false pretenses. NATO will not be there in Iran where once again we decided to attack a country for no good reason and under false pretenses.
Not arguing that Sadam or the Iranian regime are good people but the truth is that they didn't attack us, we attacked them

  4. Have you seen the number of mosques here in major cities? I keep reminding people of the San Bernardino shooting because it should have been a wake up call 10 years ago.

  6. This has been obvious since Trump's first term when he asked Germany if Russia was a friend or an enemy. If Russia is a friend, you don't need NATO. If Russia is an enemy, you are fools to be buying gas and oil from them. Europe wanted to keep NATO and so promised to increase military spending but never did. Arguably they tried to break away from Russian oil by going green but instead managed to hamstring all EU Industry. Meanwhile NATO has been nothing to the U.S. but a significant expense. Let's let the E.U. figure out their own problems.

  7. That Telegraph twit says we were late to the "party" in WWI and late to the "party" in WWII but he doesn't understand that there were probably more people on the German's side then Britains in WWI and it took some really awesome misdirection to get us to enter the war at all. That jackass Wilson swore blind he would keep us out of the war so he got elected and then he thrust us into it. WWII was not our "party." It was up to France and Britain to force Germany to abide by the Armistice and they failed utterly. Screw them.

oooooooohhhh says the twit, America did not share its war plans with them prior to launching a surprise attack on our enemy of the last 47 years. He seems unable to grasp why we might not tell all the islamic countries in Europe our plans.

  10. Trump is talking about pulling out of NATO because Bibi has already ordered him to start preparing to attack Turkey (a NATO member). Not sure what his plan will be if the others decide to defend Turkey, but Israel probably controls most of those governments too.
