Here we go again - for the 53rd time. I think the Demorats as a group should have a motto something 'If it's broke, don't bother fixing it', or, even better, 'No bad idea is so bad that we can't continue kicking that can down street forever'.
The political landscape in Washington has shifted - once again - from standard, hateful, spiteful and ignorant opposition, to a full-blown constitutional mobilization of sorts.
Following President Trump’s recent "apocalyptic" (their word) rhetoric regarding the conflict with Iran, Congressional Democrats are no longer just criticizing policy - they are actively coordinating on legal mechanisms to end his presidency. Citing a "clear and present danger" to global stability, lawmakers are weighing every available option to strip the Commander-in-Chief of his authority before the current ceasefire expires.
Dozens of House Democrats have formalized a request for the Vice President and the Cabinet to intervene, arguing that the President’s threat to "wipe out a whole civilization" demonstrates a lack of "rational capacity" to lead. Leadership (now there's a word that really is hard to apply to this group of Dims) is reportedly drafting articles of impeachment focused on "reckless endangerment of national security." They argue that even if no strikes are currently falling, the 'threat' of civilian annihilation constitutes an impeachable offense.
So, if he does start bombing again it's okayt, but stopping the bombing and saying so is an impeachable offense. I get it...
