At least he knows a friend when he sees one...

Hey - when you're the King of a country as fucked up as England is now, you better have a sense of humor. Charles delighted guests with his wit and humor on day two of his historic State Visit to the US. The monarch and Trump prompted giggles from the crowds with jokes about “soccer”, the King’s “cute” accent and a handful of more high-stakes gags.
Amid worsening relations between Trump and Keir Starmer over Iran, the King went on a charm offensive to smooth things over in the 'Special Relationship'. Addressing the US Congress, Charles jokingly reassured lawmakers he was not in America for “cunning rearguard action” to reestablish British rule as he spoke about his five-times great grandfather King George III who was monarch when the US won independence from Britain.

The King also later poured on the charm at the White House State Dinner, delighting guests with jokes about “soccer” and speaking French. Referencing the upcoming World Cup in America, Charles quipped the UK calls it “football” rather than “soccer” in a 'cheeky' jibe.
