When is the MLB Opening Night game, and how am I probably not able to watch it?

This will be the first-ever live MLB broadcast on Netflix. Let's hope they fuck it up and never carry another game...

The 2026 MLB regular season opens with a special matchup between the New York Yankees and San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, March 25, at 8 p.m. ET, streaming on Netflix. The main Opening Day featuring most teams occurs on Thursday, March 26, with a full slate of games, including a doubleheader on NBC and Peacock.
This is exactly what everyone was concerned about with the Paramount/Netflix/Warner Borthers battle. Any merger would create a broadcast Goliath just ripe for monopoly.
Why is this game on a subscription service and no where else? Because the money-grubbing whores at MLB couldn't give a fuck about you of they tried. It's supposed to be America's Game, isn't it? Well then, make it so that the vast majority of Americans can watch it - for free. And sponsored by Adobe? I guess they outbid Chevy or Ford. But why?

Yeah - okay - it's funny for all of about 17 miliseconds, and then ya start to think about it - and stuff like it - and ya realize a coupla things, first and foremost is the fact that someone took the time to create and post something that insipid. Then ya get to the point when you realize just how much of the internet is actually wasted on drivel like that, and then I get tossed in to the mix with the fact that I created - and you're reading - this blog post.
Now here's my argument. Do you actually get to know shit from here ya didn't know beforehand? Do things you see here pique you interest or curiosity? Does reading this blog have any more - or less - to offer than anything else you'd find in this vast wasteland called the internet? Chime in - I'm curious...

And then there's that...
...

...

And you wonder why I'm a Yankees fan?

A New Mexico jury on Tuesday ordered Meta to pay $375m in civil penalties after it found the company misled consumers about the safety of its platforms and enabled harm, including child sexual exploitation, against its users. This is the first jury trial to find Meta liable for acts committed on its platform.
“The jury’s verdict is a historic victory for every child and family who has paid the price for Meta’s choice to put profits over kids’ safety,” said New Mexico attorney general Raúl Torrez.

Two things here. One, jury awards in civil cases are easily overturned on appeal. Two? The amounts of monies they award are fuckin' ridiculous. Know how the came up with that exact number? The jury ordered Meta to pay the maximum penalty under the law of $5,000 per violation, totaling $375m in civil penalties for violating New Mexico’s consumer protection laws. What was the basis for that multiplier?

I had no idea that was there all along - did you? I mean, seriously, how many times have you tried pulling on the roll and the roll popped out and ran acrass the floor, right? This friggin' thing's been there all along?
That makes me feel really - I mean REALLY friggin' stupid.

You thought you were having a bad day?

Some guy up in the terminal saw this and recorded it on his phone, then posted it to Instagram. When the video begins, there are already three guitars piled on the tarmac at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The baggage man-handler grabbed a fourth and tossed it onto the pile, before it tumbled away. He continues to unload the remaining instruments in the same fashion. By the end of the video, at least six guitars had been tossed from the luggage cart to the concrete ground. You can only hope whoever this motherfucker is, that he's unemployed today What kinda miserable fuck would do that on purpose?

  1. On the Reynolds Wrap box - I went so far as to go to Lowe's and buy a wooden dow to run through those holes. Works on plastic wrap, too.

  2. I enjoy the variety on this site. As with all things internet related the reader must try to figure out what is real and accurate and what is not.

  4. Might want to add spell check to some of your posts. otherwise it is an enjoyable way to while away the hours I guess.

I like hearing what it is like to be retired in other areas. Kind of cold today in the area I am in. But was talking to a guy last night that spent the previous week in Florida and it was cold there.

Just hope we are not all sliding into the abyss with out knowing it.

  5. You're on my daily go to blog. Though I am a bit older than you, I feel that we are brothers from another mother. I live in Idaho and have for the last 28 years. 49 in the west, also Arizona and Colorado. I'm from Cleveland and the westies don't get our sense of humor and outright ball busting on others.

  7. "Insipid?" More like right on. Yes there are things to learn here like recent history that the media likes to bury so we don't remember what a douchbag certain people are.

  8. So, Joe or anyone else where or how do you watch baseball?I can't even find it on am radio.Just south of Melbourne,Fl.

  9. I find things you've posted that I might have missed or am not really interested in, and then will do my own research. Examples would be the prices of baseball for a family of 4 and the Meta lawsuit, 2 wildly different subjects. Lots of sites focus on a area or issue and I prefer yours due to the variety of topics.

  10. I read, and enjoy, your blog everyday and , as a fellow central Floridian, can attest to your other readers that you tell it like it is as to what is happening down here, particularly about Florida Man /Woman. Keep at it, please.

  13. Always check for free one week trials on the streaming services to watch games you wouldn't otherwise get. Just don't forget to cancel.

  14. I remember my grandfather coming in from the farm to watch the Yankees play on TV. when we stayed with them over the summer. Whitey Ford was pitching. I'm older than you are.

  15. It's not just about oil. It's not just about a nuclear Iran. Xi has publicly asked the military to be ready to invade Taiwan by 2027. 70% of Venezuela's oil went to China. 90% of Iran's did. Trump taking control of both severely crimps China's options. And even that isn't the the full story.

  16. If taxpayers funded the stadium, they should access to the broadcasts from that stadium for free. Consider it a user free for using OUR stadium. The alternative is owners payback the money.
