Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has proposed guarantees to prevent future invasions as conditions for ending the war with the U.S. and Israel. On the 11th, President Pezeshkian stated via X, “In discussions with leaders of Russia and Pakistan, I reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to regional peace,” adding, “The only way to end this war, instigated by the Zionist regime and the U.S., is for them to recognize Iran’s legitimate rights, pay reparations, and provide robust international assurances to prevent future invasions.”
Iran conveyed to mediators its demand for binding commitments from both the U.S. and Israel to prevent future airstrikes as a condition for a ceasefire. According to unnamed sources, Iran fears Israel might resume attacks after the war. President Trump has repeatedly stated, amid concerns over prolonged conflict, that “the war will end soon.” Iran, however, has pushed back, asserting, “It is up to us to decide the end of the war.”
