Florida weather this time of year is basically a daily gamble where the sky wakes up and chooses violence. One minute it’s 82°, sunny, palm trees swaying like a postcard, and you’re thinking, “Yeah… this is why people move here.” Someone’s already at the beach, someone else is washing their car, and a guy in flip flops is grilling at 10 AM like it’s a full-blown vacation day.
Then out of absolutely nowhere, the sky turns dark like it owes money. Now it’s 78° but somehow worse. Rain isn’t falling — it’s attacking sideways. Thunder sounds like a demolition project. Lightning is hitting close enough to make you rethink your entire life.
You check the radar and it looks like a toddler colored directly over your neighborhood in red. Ten minutes later? Gone. Sun’s back out like nothing happened. Steam rising off the pavement. Humidity hits you like a wet blanket with attitude.
Meanwhile, There’s a random lizard doing push-ups on your porch. A guy is still driving 90 in the rain like visibility is optional. And someone just said, “It’s not that hot today” while it’s 85 with 100% humidity
And the forecast? “Sunny. Storms. Maybe both at the same time.”
Welcome to Florida...

50 in the AM, 75 as the sun sets
ReplyDeleteI loved Colorado in the Rockies. Beautiful springs, summer thunderstorms and fall colors. Winters sucked. Too bad they went commie.
ReplyDeleteWoke to -30 around 8 this morning. By 2 PM we'd peaked at about -5. Been blue skies & sunny for the last week or so...
ReplyDeleteThere's around 12 hrs of sun actually above the horizon and in 5 or 6 weeks it won't get dark. I figure there's probably one more good snowfall yet, then it's wet during the day and frozen at night for a while till the majority of the snow finally melts.
