Every dollar spent bombing the fuck out of Iran is a dollar well spent...

When you're reading an article on a website like TheGuardian.com, you know you have to suspend disbeliefe on most of what they write, but they do, occasionaly, present facts and figures somewhat accurately, even with the liberal spin they put on it.
Their examination of the costs involved with the operations in Iran is heavy-handedly leftie-loonie in it's appraoch, but it still has some merit, if you read between the propoganda*.
Take a look at their analysis. It may or may not be accurate (as in: How the fuck could they possibly know that shit), but it's still worth a look. Find it here if you're interested.

  1. The U.S. is finally sending in the A10s! When the regime supporters gather in the streets they should be "unalived".

  4. Remind me again how much we've spent on fraud in Minnesota and California.

Xi had made it clear that he wants China's military ready to take Taiwan by 2027. This includes the ability to close the Straight of Hormuz by selling Iran Mach 3 anti-ship missiles (in order to retaliate for the blockade that China will experience when they go after Taiwan). The people b*tching about Trump and Iran are the same people that would be b*tching that Trump didn't do enough to stop China. There are times where a president inherits a situation with no good options. The current situation sucks. Every president from Carter onward deserves a certain amount of the blame, but especially Carter, Obama, and Biden.

  5. $2 bln a day sounds reasonable considering it's all branches involved. But please finish the job.

  7. This war is just about to get a lot more expensive and gruesome for us.

Iran is forcing Trump to choose between two bad options.
Option 1 Call the mission accomplished and head back home. We all know the mission is not accomplished, Iran goes back to what it was and Trump looks like a dumbass.
Option 2 open the strait of Hormuz by force. The only way to do this is with American boots on the ground. Trump is already sending 2,500 men to the area. This will sink the US into another quagmire with plenty of body bags coming back home. Sure, the death toll will be 100 to 1 but Iran is willing to tolerate millions of their own killed and as soon as a few 100 dead marines come back we will be out of there. This is the Taliban playbook all over again. We own the clocks, they have the time.

In both cases Iran remains and we look like dumbasses. So far, nobody has been able to articulate a likely scenario in which we leave Iran with a win. We can kill every Mullah and they will keep appointing them

  9. The Defense Department budget was $895 billion in 2025. This action is not a significant increase in expenses. Those munitions are a sunk cost already paid for and just sitting around getting old and obsolete; produced during the Biden and Obama administrations or even previously. The is no new cost unless it is necessary to replace them in the future and success of the current war will make that mostly unnecessary especially since many of the bombs et al are only useful against a minor opponent - We are not sending B52's with dumb bombs against China. Further since the munitions already existed the money could not have been moved to any other use. Most of the cost of paying troops is fixed - we pay them anyhow. The ships and planes are moving more, but the only fuel costs are increased.

    Too long; didn't read?
If you think you that we should have spent more on the poor than on the military - talk to Obama and Biden cause they're the ones who spent the money on the bombs. Trump is just using up the old stock on the shelf

    1. 895 Billion was already WAY too much money and now they want 200 billion more!

200 billion would pay lunch for EVERY school kid in America for decades. We could build about 1 million new homes, there are less than 1 million homeless people in America.

I'm not advocating for socialism here, but there are SO many better things we could do with the EXTRA 200 billion dollars they are requesting. And don't even get me started on the BILLIONS of dollars we have been giving to Israel for the last 70 years!
