When I first saw this cartoon, I thought 'there's a perfect one to ask for help on', but google-searched it first and I found there's an actual good reason behind it that I had'nt heard as yet. It seems the Media Research Center conducted a study of bias in Apple news feeds, finding that they had quite a disinterest in stories from right leaning news organizations such as Fox News and the New York Post. The study looked at 620 top news stories on Apple News from January 1–31, 2026. They found zero from right-leaning outlets, 440 from left-leaning ones, and 180 from centrist sources.
MRC is an organization that monitors bias in news outlets particularly bias by elitist leftist organizations. Due to their focus against left-leaning bias, it might be fair to question their results. However, similar studies have been conducted by Allsides.com, an outlet that exams news bias. One of their goals is to provide different perspectives so readers are better equipped to recognize news organizations or specific news articles for their right or left tilt. Or as they put it, “…to free people from filter bubbles so they can better understand the world – and each other.”
Two studies conducted by Allsides on Apple bias backed up what MRC found - an absence of articles from right leaning publications, these during time frames in 2023 and 2025. And this seems to show a consistency that continues. Fox Business reported that as of earlier this month, “Apple News had gone 96 consecutive days without showcasing a single story from a conservative publication in its top stories.”

In Fernandina Beach, Florida, you can't down one of your own trees on your own property without a permit from the city, and those permits almost don't even exist. Township commissioners will consider tougher rules Tuesday that could fine property owners up to $20,000 per tree, depending on size, if home owners cut down their own trees without one of those hard-to-get permits.
The proposal updates the city’s Land Development Code to strengthen the calculation of penalties when two or more trees are removed without a permit. It would revise Ordinance 2026-05 and the tree-permit violation section of the code. The change sets fines based on a tree’s trunk diameter, using the standard “Diameter at Breast Height (DBH)” measurement taken about 4½ feet above the ground. Under the proposed schedule, the bigger the tree, the bigger the fine, Fernandina Observer reported.
