Give one single solitary stupid inch, and they'll take a mile. These so-called 'demands' they've issued are not only untenable, they're also pandering at it's worst possible level. Democrats have refused to support long-term funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) unless Republicans agree to reforms on the tactics of federal agents carrying out Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.
“The American people rightfully expect their elected representatives to take action to rein in ICE and ensure no more lives are lost,” the Senate minority leader, Chuck Schumer, and his House counterpart, Hakeem Jeffries, wrote on Wednesday night in a letter issuing 10 formal demands to GOP leadership in order to avert a 13 February lapse in funding for the department, which oversees Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the US Border Patrol.
Republicans, who control both chambers, have already ruled out many of the ideas Democrats have outlined, but Democrats are expected to put forward legislation to codify their proposals.

Enraged spandex-clad customers at a Minneapolis CorePower Yoga studio berated staffers for being “complicit” in the federal immigration crackdown during a caught-on-camera clash last weekend — demanding that they immediately condemn ICE.
Video of the clash posted to social media by Heather Anderson, who claims to have been a regular at the location for nearly a decade, shows at least 13 women “spontaneously” facing off against two female staffers inside of the studio’s lobby after a Sunday class let out.
The thing you have to figure out is - how hard would slap any one of these bitches if they pulled some stupid shit like that in front of you? Take your time - I'll be over here...

The older photo above shows the ritual of the 'hazing' of US Navy sailors during an Equator crossing ceremony, 1944. This 'ceremonial ritual' is no longer practiced but had been for a hundred years. Any sailor who had NOT crossed the Equator before was subject to this hazing. The actual ship in this shot is unidentified but could easily be the LST that my father was stationed on at that exact time.

I think my father went through the hazing when his ship crossed the International Date Line on his way to the Philippines. He also had a card. Not sure what happened to it.

During the lockdown the WP continuously issued stories of doom, urging everyone to stay home and avoid the shopping mall. Multitudes of small, under staffed, local papers reprinted those WP articles. As a result of the panic the WP helped generate people stayed home and shopped online. Amazon sales doubled between 2020 and 2022.
