The word 'insipid' gets a new definition ever day...

Our buddy out in the Land of Fruits and Nuts is hell-bent on out-doing himself showing us what a dipshit he really is, and boy, lemme tell yuz - does that fuckin' guy wanna be President. He went on X Yesterday to deliver this message (and I apologize in advance for ther all-caps thing, it's his exact quote, letter for letter):

Governor Newsom Press Office
@GovPressOffice 18h

I HAVE SEEN ENOUGH. AS GOVERNOR OF THE FREE WORLD, I, GAVIN C. NEWSOM, AM OFFICIALLY BANNING “KID ROCK” FROM CALIFORNIA. HIS SHIRTLESS VIDEO WITH “SECRETARY BRAINWORM” WAS INAPPROPRIATE, CREEPY, AND VERY LOW ENERGY. NOT WHAT YOU WANT AROUND OUR CHILDREN! ALSO, SOME OF THE WEAKEST PUSHUPS EVER WITNESSED. CALIFORNIA ONLY ALLOWS WINNERS! I AM ALSO BANNING WORKING OUT IN JEANS, VERY STRANGE! THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER! — GOVERNOR GCN

And if it's approved it will be made available very soon. It will be included in your normal blood work screening for your annual checkups.
This is a big deal for me. My Dad died (of a massive heart attack) having suffered with Alzheimers for the last couple years of his life. It was horrible to witness. Alzheimers does have a genetic link, so of course I'm concerned...

After decades of rising intelligence and academic achievement, new data show stagnation and even decline in students everywhere.
Are we raising a dumber generation? IQ scores are falling worldwide. Smartphones and artificial intelligence are altering how children focus, read and think. Can schools adapt in time?

It will be insane at the supermarkets up there today. Bread, milk, eggs and toilet paper. Grab a bottle or two of wine while you're at it. Chime in if you witness it...

This spectacular building in Paris is actually a private residence. Designed by architect Jules Lavirotte, it is a renowned example of Art Nouveau architecture.
The building was constructed between 1899 and 1901. Without getting in to details here, if this is the kinda shit that gets you excited like it does me, do a google image search on the pic and you'll find all the info you'll want. It is pretty spectacular, though, isn't it?

 New Jersey Democratic lawmakers have introduced a sweeping and deliberately bold-named proposal - the “Fight Unlawful Conduct and Keep Individuals and Communities Empowered (F.U.C.K. I.C.E.) Act” - aimed at curbing what they describe as unconstitutional or abusive enforcement practices by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The measure would allow individuals to bring civil actions in state court for violations of constitutional rights related to immigration enforcement activities. Sponsors say the bill was written in direct response to recent ICE operations in North Jersey and along the Hudson County border that lawmakers claim targeted immigrants indiscriminately and 'created fear in local communities'.
Assemblyman Ravi Bhalla (that's him below), one of the prime sponsors, said the act “sends a clear message that New Jersey will not stand idly by while federal agents violate residents’ civil liberties under the guise of immigration enforcement.”
Yeah - I want a guy who looks like him to craft the bills that control my life.

  2. Cool about the Alzheimer's blood test, but not so cool about it being a routine part of your annual bloodwork UNLESS the results are automatically kept private and unavailable to the various insurance companies. Life insurance, long term health insurance, even car, motorcycle and home insurance rates could be massively affected by releasing the results. Good to know the results; not good to automatically share them.

  5. The creation comment is not accurate. Genesis 1:3 says, "Let there be light." (Sun created) Genesis 1:9 says, "Let the dry land appear." Genesis 1:11 says, "Let the earth sprout vegetation." So, yes, the sun was created first, and then the earth and vegetation.....

    1. The wonderful Genesis account cannot be dismissed so cheaply. John Walton, an expert in ancient religions, wrote a book called, "The Lost World of Genesis One" which makes sense of the passage by looking at it through the eyes of those it was written to. It's very foolish to translate an ancient text into modern English and miss the nuances of the ancient world view.
