Some days are harder than others...

I know it might sound silly, but there are days when I can't
figure out what to start this with...

I always try to start out with something that'll - metaphorically, at least - grab ya by the nuts and hold your attention. Yeah, well, some days the pickin's are ripe, and other days - like today - there's no so much shit goin' on it's better to start out as neutral as possible and let the chips fall where they wanna, if ya get my drift. Pretty cool graphic, though,, huh?

Today in History: The National League Modifies the Ball

In 1931 the National League made a controversial change to make baseball more interesting.
It seemed that batters had a big advantage over pitchers. Base hits and home runs were becoming too common. So the league introduced a new baseball, one that wouldn’t travel as far when hit. Its cushioned cork center and thicker leather hide made it less responsive to impact. The new ball also had raised stitching, which gave pitchers better control.
The following season, the number of league home runs fell from 900 to 500. In time, the American League also adopted the dead balls.
Then, thirty years later, team owners thought they’d been too successful. They wanted to raise attendance by bringing back higher scoring games. So they lowered the pitcher’s mound and narrowed the strike zone. But game scores continued to be modest until 1973, when the American League introduced the controversial designated hitter rule.
And the endless tinkering with baseball rules went on.

I've finally come to the conclusion that the New Yorker Magazine is put together by a bunch of limp-wristed liberal jerkoffs to please an audience of like-minded limp-wristed liberal jerkoffs with no sense of humor.
I'm so old that I can actually remember back to the days when it was a bright, adult-oriented,, sophisticated magazine. Now, god knows what inmates are running that asylum. And they haven't published a truly funny cartoon since Charles Barsotti died. Juss' sayin'...

Rep. Maxine Waters is going viral after claiming she could be “next,” alleging the president “abducted Maduro,” and warning Americans might be targeted just for speaking out, calling him dangerous. Left critics scream “constitutional crisis,” but on the right, it reads as hysteria from a lawmaker terrified of real leadership.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested more than 650 illegal aliens in West Virginia during a statewide enforcement surge conducted from Jan. 5 to Jan. 19, federal officials announced. The operation involved ICE Philadelphia working with 14 local law enforcement agencies under the federal 287(g) program and targeted individuals with criminal histories and prior removal orders.
ICE teams were deployed across Martinsburg, Moorefield, Morgantown, Beckley, Huntington, and Charleston. Officials said those arrested included individuals convicted of child sex abuse, drug possession, and endangering the welfare of children, as well as people who had previously been ordered removed from the United States.
“This operation demonstrates how strong partnerships between ICE and West Virginia law enforcement agencies enhance public safety and the integrity of our immigration system,” said Michael Rose, acting field office director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Philadelphia.
State and local officials praised the operation, while supporters cited public safety gains. Critics of large-scale enforcement actions continue to raise concerns nationally about immigration policy and oversight.
