In a documentthat's crazier than anything even Mamdani couldn't dream up, his own party, the Democratic Socialists of America - of whom Raman is a member - detail their “Program for Los Angeles”, outlining a commitment to disarming police, ending fossil fuel use, closing jails, raising taxes and de-criminalizing drugs. They also vehemently oppose the 2028 Olympics and even want to seize golf courses and convert the land to public housing.
Raman, one of three DSA members on LA City council, is an outspoken advocate of defunding the police and even voted against a law banning homeless camps 500ft from schools and daycare centers in 2022. When the 44-year-old announced a surprise run for mayor on Saturday, she claimed Los Angeles was “no longer a place of opportunity” and ”at breaking point.”
How nuts is this broad? In 2023, Raman was one of only three members on council who opposed a new four-year contract with the Los Angeles Police Protective League to given new officers a 14% raise. She argued the “enormous fiscal impact” would prevent the city from funding alternative responses to homelessness and mental health calls.

ReplyDeleteAh, yes, radical noodle-headed feminist (see what I did there?). Makes me recall an incident with Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin back in the early Bush administration. She and a bunch of her whacko followers were demonstrating outside a military recruiting center, and some Marine recruiters were watching. Some ol' boys started getting a bit close and pushy with them scaring Benjamiin and some of the ... ladies. Benjamin supposedly cried out something along the lines of< "Marines, help!" I may have some details off, but the story is essentially that. I wish no ill or harm on this nutter Raman, but what would she do if she or one of hers were assaulted by a druggie just released from prison under her vile and truly dangerous plan? Don't think she'd call up Medea for advice in the moment. Hypocritical dimwit.
