He's just announced his upcoming "Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour". It’s clearly going to be a political show, probably more than a typical brief Bruce rant between songs. It’s being marketed as such. In announcing the spring tour Springsteen put out this statement in a video he posted on Instagram:
“We are living through dark, disturbing and dangerous times, but do not despair - the cavalry is coming! ... We will be rocking your town in celebration and in defense of America - American democracy, American freedom, our American Constitution and our sacred American dream - all of which are under attack by our wannabe king and his rogue government in Washington, D.C..”
I say go for it. If you wanna spend $ 500.00 for a coupla tickets to listen to some geriatric has-been spew bullshit against the country you love for 2 1/2 hours in a voice no one can decipher, I say go for it. You deserve to get verbally spanked by this over-the-hill 'rocker' billionaire who hasn't had a hit in over 40 years. Why not? After all, Baby, you were born to get the runs...

According to The Post's NY edition, a Virginia high school suspended more than 300 teens who ditched class and stormed off campus during a student-led anti-ICE walkout last week, according to reports.
Woodbridge High School handed three-day suspensions to 303 students who walked out of class last Friday to “express their views” and protest federal immigration enforcement, principal Dr. Heather Abney told parents in a letter. The demonstration, which was not backed by Prince William County Public Schools, eventually spilled off school grounds and onto the streets, forcing local police to manage traffic and oversee the hundreds of rebel students involved.
In the letter, Abney noted that while walkouts allow students to voice their opinions on issues “important to them,” leaving campus without permission during school hours violates district rules. Some students reportedly went home after the protest, others headed to a nearby shopping center, and several returned to campus — where a few caused a disturbance.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez reportedly spent weeks preparing for her high-profile trip to the Munich Security Conference - a global forum focused on foreign policy and international security - only to face intense backlash for her performance and responses to basic foreign policy questions. According to multiple reports, the New York lawmaker stumbled when asked if the United States should defend Taiwan from a Chinese invasion, freezing for nearly 20 seconds before offering an answer based on “strategic ambiguity,” a long-standing U.S. policy rather than a direct commitment.
Ocasio-Cortez also confused international trade agreements, mistakenly referencing the Trans-Pacific Partnership when discussing transatlantic alliances and later acknowledged the error online. Conservative commentators seized on the missteps as evidence she was unprepared for a global stage.
She even made a geographic error regarding Venezuela’s location, prompting further criticism from commentators who argued her grasp of basic world geography was lacking.

Don't get me wrong on this. There was a time when he and I were sorta friends. That was back in the late 70's, early 80's. Long before he got so fuckin' self important.
In case you can't figure it out, that's Southside Johnny, Stevie VZ, Bruce and me. That was the night we were all celebrating the release on Johnny's first album - 'I don't wanna go home'...

As for the Virginia high school, all I see are ferals.
ReplyDeleteJohn Leguizamo should extend his logic. If you hate whites (which a lot of liberals do), you should not use their inventions either. No currency, no banks, no computers, no modern transportation, no electricity, no indoor plumbing, no western medicine,...
ReplyDeleteThose screaming "cultural appropriation" should also abstain from the above.
last time I went to a concert back back in the middle 1990's with a army buddy. we about the same age and I got the tickets
ReplyDeleteand he was going to buy shirts. like the old days when it was under 20 bucks to get in. ANYWAY, like 40 bucks each to get in.. no shirts to be had anywhere >(???) afterwards, we where talking how much the price of everything went up in the last 15 years or so. I figured it cost way much more for nurses and doctors than it did for just drugs and booze back in the day. groupies where FREE ! now everything costs. BTW. Bruce in the adds is just pointing out that he sold out and will do anything for a buck.
about AOC. as far as I can tell, she is out of her depth in a parking lot puddle. BUT, she did learn how to get rich while
she was there. she worth what? 20-25 million in what 6 years in DC? but, again. what do I know ?
Whenever Leguizamo came on tv I knew it was going to be crap and I changed the channel. Has he given up all white inventions?
ReplyDeleteall for game of week on Saturday. Can't afford to watch otherwise
ReplyDeleteGreat picture of you and the ‘Jersey Boys’, explains a lot. Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes was the original, his rendition of Waits’ timeless ‘Jersey Girl’ is still the best (for those who ‘walked the Boards’). BS’s concert version is good, but SSJ’s is better.
ReplyDeleteAny teachers or school administrators who support school ICE-OUT protest plans prior to an event should be suspended. The students who walk out should be suspended and school administrators should be held medically and financially responsible for anything that happens during these school walkouts.
ReplyDeleteDo the Bums know what year it is?
ReplyDeleteAfter seeing Bruce's name on the epstein island lists, the song I'm On Fire makes sense in a whole new sinister way. FJB
ReplyDeleteSaw Southside and Springstein together in Youngstown in the early 70's. Wednesday night and the place was near empty. Southside was fab. Springstein ok. But both bands finished together and it was outstanding.
