In 2020, McBride became the first openly transgender person elected as a state senator in the United States. Prior to his/her election, McBride lobbied for the passage of legislation in Delaware banning discrimination on the basis of gender 'identity' in employment, housing, insurance, and public accommodations. McBride is now Delaware's sole Representative in Congress.
McBride said recently that 'the United States is facing a well organized and well funded right wing movement' targeting transgender people after what NcBride describes as 'decades of progress on gender equality'.
He/She made the remarks during a recent interview discussing legislation and political messaging around transgender rights. “There is no question in the United States that we are facing a well organized, well funded right wing regressive movement,” McBride said.
He/She added that “trans phobia, homophobia, misogyny and sexism are all rooted in the same prejudice.” McBride argued that efforts aimed at transgender Americans will have broader consequences for women and other groups.
Her comments come amid ongoing state and federal debates over transgender policies. Lawmakers across party lines remain divided, with advocacy groups voicing strong support and criticism.

ReplyDeleteLike I said before they've turned America into a craphole. "Right Wing" just means normal and common sense.
