It's not a competition - more like a comparison...

So, the reality is, we're all slowly but surely dying off.
What's gonna happen when we're gone?

Starting this year and basically for the next 12 to 20 years, we are going to see a rapidly dying population among the Baby Boomers simply because we are aging towards and beyond 80. The next generation will not be able to fill the gaps left behind in terms of housing and income. This will make profound changes in the society and its effects will be keenly felt in places like The Villages and Sun City, Arizona where there is concentration of retirees. The age restrictions will fade away in who can buy houses in these retirement communities because by 2038, it is expected that 9 million houses may be unsold if age restrictions are not removed.
This glut of housing is going to surely put pressure on prices and house prices will decline in The Villages and Sun City, Arizona and elsewhere over the next 12 - 20 years.
Now there's something to look forward to, huh?

  1. Really mostly hype. 76 Million Boomers, 65 Million each Xers, Millennials and 70 Million Zoomers. Its not like Boomers are going to all disappear in one day

  2. These are great news! This country has a chronic housing shortage issue. More houses available for cheap is great news.

My biggest concern is who will care for all those aging Americans. As of 2023, the foreign-born population accounts for over 42% of home health aides.
Build the wall, deport them all, send them all to El Salvador. But don't complain when a few years from now when you can't find anyone to help changing your soiled diaper or getting you up because you fell trying to get your underwear on.
