This is political grandstanding at it's most ridiculous, and who better to demonstrate it than the Chuckster himself. Yesterday, January 28, 2026, Chuck Schumer officially unveiled these three demands as "common sense reforms" that must be included in the Department of Homeland Security funding bill. He stated that Democrats will not vote for the spending package unless these "guardrails" are added to rein in ICE following the fatal shooting of Alex Pretti.
Speaking to reporters after a closed-door caucus meeting, Schumer outlined the party's ultimatum: (the list of 3)
1. "We want to end roving patrols. We need to tighten the rules governing the use of warrants and require ICE coordination with state and local law enforcement. (Okay, Chuck - how will they find who they're looking for?)
2. "We need to enforce accountability... federal agents should be held to the same use-of-force standards as local police. (Ya mean like the NYPD is accountable? Okay)
3. "Masks off, body cameras on. No more anonymous agents, no more secret operatives. These are common-sense reforms. If Republicans refuse to support them, they are choosing chaos over order, plain and simple." (You're one of the ones who made us wear masks back in the day, Chuck. Have you forgotten that already?)
One more thing about the masks, Chuckmeister. If you can guarantee that all of these so-called 'protestors' won't wear masks or dox the officers, that may work. Can ya do that, Chuckie Baby?
