Size and distance are relevant - or is it relative?

What if the sun was the size of a grain of sand? Easy - if the sun were a grain of sand, Earth would be about 1 inch away. Jupiter would be 5.2 inches away and Pluto, 40 inches away. The nearest star, Proxima Centauri, would then be 4.3 miles away.

  2. When you are trying to contain a violent nuclear reaction that is literally creating the manifest matter that fills the solar system and the universe, you are either far enough away to NOT destroy everything or you are close enough to destroy everything. Seems like the sun is JUST far enough away to keep things warm enough to make the forms of life on THIS planet quite viable. Of course a super tiny sun might not be a threat only an inch away.
