One thing leads to another - in my head, anyway...

The outage had a significant and unacceptable impact on public safety, including disruptions to reliable access to emergency communications and critical response systems. In addition to public safety risks, these outages have caused substantial and ongoing inconveniences to residents, businesses, and local institutions, many of whom rely on wireless service for employment, healthcare access, education, and daily operations.
Being without a phone for only eight hours got me thinking about a bunch of shit, but mostly about war. Yup - what's gone happen in WWIII?
Well, it won't be a land war, I'm fairly confident of that. I think it'll be a cyber war. Power and communication networks taken down, financial shit becomes inaccessable, transport systems crippled to the point that food deliveries are delayed or not at all, and on and on.
I'm not one of those doomsday prepper types, but it did get me to thinking, especially the money part. Might be time to cash up a little. Juss' sayin'...

This is a classic example of how one person can destroy the credibility of a conferral like The Medal of Freedom. It was never explained to us why, shortly after he took the oath of office, that he did this shit with Biden. What do you supposed Biden had on him that he had to do this? It has to have been some kinda blackmail shit - there's no other reasonable explanation. Juss' sayin'...

Jeff Bezos moved from Washington to Florida after Washington’s new capital gains tax, and the aftermath was not symbolic.
It was reported that the move contributed to the loss of roughly a
billion dollars in expected tax revenue.

Page and Brin are not just any rich residents. Together, they are worth roughly $500 billion or more today. If they were fully exposed to a one-time 5% wealth tax as California residents, their bill alone could plausibly land in the mid $20 billion range, spread over years. The state’s finances are unusually dependent on the ultra-rich. Personal income tax accounts for about 62% of the General Fund, and the top 1% of earners typically contribute around 40 to 45 percent of those receipts.
This is a structure that prints cash in boom years and becomes brutally volatile when markets soften or when the most valuable taxpayers decide their best move is to stop being taxpayers here. Some critics argue that in an extreme reading of how the proposal interacts with tech’s super-voting share structures, the burden could feel even more punishing in practice, pushing founders toward selling stakes they never intended to touch.
This, if it happens, will be the best example to date of the laws of unintended consequences. Wait and see.

Taken ouit of context, he kinda makes sense. Scary...

Billionaire author J.K. Rowling, who once survived on $100 a week in Edinburgh and wrote in cafés to stay warm and soothe her baby, now explores the world aboard her $150 million superyacht, whose annual upkeep costs more than she could have earned in centuries.

A stranger rushed to rescue two toddlers who wandered into busy traffic in Florida while their clueless family was blocks away at an Airbnb, according to harrowing footage.
John Brittingham, a father of five, was cruising through Brevard County on Sunday after wrapping up a real estate photo shoot when he personally halted traffic to help two little girls who toddled right into oncoming traffic. He pulled over and scooped up the first toddler, who had wandered into the middle of the road, in one arm while waving his free hand to stop the other drivers on the road. The second girl, who was closer to the sidewalk, shuffled over to him and held her arms out.

It's 1963. I'm barely 10 years old and I'm either listening to Murray the K on WMCA or Dan Ingram on WABC. The little tiny battery-powered Transistor radio that I keep under my pillow is my escape device. I'm falling in love with girls and music at the same time. What a GREAT time to be alive. These are the top 20 songs of the year 1963...
1. Sugar Shack, Jimmy Gilmer and The Fireballs
 1. Surfin' U.S.A., The Beach Boys
 3. The End of the World, Skeeter Davis
 4. Rhythm of the Rain, The Cascades
 5. He's So Fine, The Chiffons
 6. Blue Velvet, Bobby Vinton
 7. Hey Paula, Paul and Paula
 8. Fingertips, Pt. 2, Little Stevie Wonder
 9. Washington Square, Village Stompers
 10. It's All Right, The Impressions
