Okay - but then what...

Okay - ya got the guy. Good for us, I guess. I have a hard time with us doing regime change. We did it with Noriega and did it with Saddaam and maybe a coupla others, and yes those two guys were scumbags, and yes, their countries are slightly better off with them gone, but...
If they can prove, in a court of law, that this guy really was behind all the drugs and shit, then, okay, I'm cool with it. But - this was my original first reaction, and I don't post shit like this on Facebook very often:

As a news source, TheGuardian.com kinda sucks because they're

  3. Funny how people forget about Hillary and Obama's extra-judicak execution of Gaddafi and subsequent turning of Libya into a cesspit of human misery. (And this after Gaddafi promised to be a good boy and give up terrorism and turned over the Lockerie bombers). I was for Gulf I (liberation if Kuwait) and against Gulf II (regime change). The only advantage Venezuela has over any of the Muslim countries is that Venezuela had the first world, western infrastructure, and a mostly educated populace. The people understand the concept of a democratic republic.

    1. Having initially voted their way into that mess, I wonder if they have learned any lessons, and if the lessons will stick?

    2. One big difference is: Maduro was snatched up and hauled away quickly, the country was not plunged into Islamic revolutionary chaos beforehand in order to get him out of power. Chavez and Mauro f&cked the country up all by themselves. Not to mention, Libya was a bunch of armed gangs that were only kept from cutting each others throats by Gadaffi's strong arm (e.g., brutal) methods. The culture of North African peoples is COMPELTELY different than Venezuela, a place that has Christian / Catholic roots. Now hopefully the citizenry can extract themselves from communism. Time will tell.

  4. Perhaps this wouldn't have been necessary if Jimmy Carter hadn't tongue-kissed the election of Chavez, because he "wanted to avoid violence."

  5. This is about election interference as much as oil. Long time coming. You can thank Bush/Clinton for a lot of this.

  6. Look at the deeper issue of the fraud committed 2016-2020 elections, with systems that were managed and controlled from Venezuela (smartmatic, dominion) as well as the narco war on the US directly funded by China and implemented via Venezuela, moving cash from Mexico to Caracas via diplomatic courier. Oil is plentiful in the US, it is at a very low cost, currently. The commie left hates oil, so they bring it up as much as they can while using their Iphones and sipping their Starbucks.

  7. "If this is only about oil and not about rescing the people of that country from a drug-dealing thug well, | surrender."
Trump literally said he did it for the oil and he's going to give it to the American oil companies, he was pretty clear about that. Him and his pals are going to make billions from this very quickly! You didn't really think Trump gave a fsck about the Venezuelans did you?

    1. Trump said a lot of things. You're cherry picking.

  8. Two words on the takeout of Maduro: Monroe Doctrine. The takeout was not just about Maduro and his socialist dictatorship, not just about his narco-cartel-state drug boats, not just about Venezuelan oil. It was also about Red China and Iran having insinuated their cash, ideology, and influence into Venezuela, all of that aimed at the U.S. So, one more time: Monroe Doctrine.

    1. Democrats and their Reach-Across-The-Aisle republicrats threw the Monroe Doctrine in the dumpster a long time ago. President Trump in word and deed has restablished U.S. dominion over the Western Hemisphere

  9. Seen some saying the Venezuela event was all about drugs, others say it's all about oil. Having wandered around various sites, it looks like there are a number of other things involved as well. Let's see how this mess gets, or doesn't get, cleaned up. US politicians will probably try to turn it into another money laundering scheme for their own benefit.
