A Stanwood, Washington family filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Tesla last week, alleging the electric car manufacturer is 'partly liable' for a crash that killed a 28-year-old man in 2024.
In April 2024, a Snohomish man driving in a 2022 Tesla Model S was driving home behind a motorcyclist at Fales Road near Monroe, according to a police report.
The man, 56 at the time, was driving the Tesla and looking at his cell phone after having activated his car’s Autopilot feature when he heard a bang, according to a probable cause statement written by a Washington State Trooper at the time. The vehicle lurched forward and lodged on top of a motorcyclist. The motorcyclist, Jeffery Nissen Jr., 28, died at the scene.
If I remember correctly, don't some people talk about distracted driving in a somewhat negative fashion? It's Washington State, so the jerkoff will probably prevail, but if it had happened here in Florida, FHP woulda locked that dooshbag up at the scene of the accident. Different mindsets.

Yale University did not have a single professor donate to a Republican candidate in 2025 as ideological diversity on Ivy League campuses remains under scrutiny.
While 2025 was an off-year for elections, the Yale Daily News studied Federal Election Commission filings for the year, looking into over 7,000 contributions from nearly 1,100 school employees. They found that 97.6 percent of the donations from people who listed their position as professor were for Democrat candidates and the remaining 2.4 percent went to independents.
