"Just the facts, Ma'am"... Here's some wild facts about where I live...

Interesting facts about The Villages at the end of 2025:

The Villages' "80/20 Rule" comes from the Housing for Older Persons Act (HOPA), meaning at least 80% of occupied homes must have one person 55 or older, leaving up to 20% for younger residents, though the community can set stricter rules, like for children under 19. The Villages generally allows younger buyers, leveraging this rule and its large size, but they still market as a 55+ community, with specific rules, like no one under 19 living there long-term, enforced via deed restrictions.

164,923 people covering 3 counties .
12.7% are Veterans.  Highest count in any area not next to a military installation.
68.1 is the median age living in the Villages.
110 pools including neighborhood, family and sports pools
277 pickleball courts.
265 Bocce courts.
261 shuffleboard courts.
819 total holes of golf.
62 golf courses, 15 Championships, 43 Executive, 4 pitch and putt courses.2,924 holes-in-one made so far.
3,208,571 rounds of golf played so far
4 town squares with nightly music.
9 dog parks.
125 recreation facilities.
Over 3,000 clubs to join.
14 softball fields, soon to have 4 more.

I guess the moral of the story is, if you're the kind of person who gets bored easily, maybe this isn't the right place for you. Conversely, with this much just to see and do, it's almost impossible to get bored. Oh, by the way, there are somewhere in the area of  73 bars and 65 restaurants (even more than Disney) in The Villages. Juss' sayin'...

Do you like a strong cup of tea? I found this in Belfast a long time ago.
It's the best tea I've ever tasted. Buying it in packs of four boxes
reduces the cost dramatically.
