Life in Florida isn't all plam trees, sunshine and alligators, ya know...

Sinkholes are common in Florida as much of our state sits on highly porous carbonate rock. Though they are a natural geological feature, sinkholes are developing more frequently as a result of human activities - basically, too many people sucking water out from underneath themselves, and too much construction. Remember the lyrics of that song: 'They paved paradise, put up a parking lot'? Well, then the parking lot caved in because the ground underneath it disappeared. 
 
One unfortunate fuck had a sinkhole appear under his house while he was sleeping, They never did find his body...
