I know it's wishfull thinking, but if we could...

With DJT it's a love/hate thing no matter what. Very few people seem to be indifferent about the guy - you notice that? The one thing - above all's he's accomplished in such a short time - that I like about the guy is the fact he has a real sense of hummor. His tenure aside, there hasn't been another funny President since Reagan. Anybody else think that's so? Chime in...

Christmas, somewhere in the Pacific - 1944

That was my Father singing four-part harmony with his buddies to entertain his shipmates after dinner - that was served at 2:30 in the afternoon. Christmas boxing matches and a pie eating contest. They actually got to sleep in Christmas morning until 7:15. Much simpler times...

LST-686 - the ship my Father served on - was laid down on 4 January 1944 at Jeffersonville, Ind., by the Jeffersonville Boat & Machine Co.; launched on 24 February 1944; sponsored by Mrs. Clara L. Vogt; and commissioned on 14 April 1944, Ens. H. A. May in command. During World War II, LST-686 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific theater and participated in the following operations:
Leyte landings-October 1944
Mindoro landings-December 1944
Lingayen Gulf landing-January 1945
Assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto-March through May 1945
Following the war, LST-686 performed occupation duty in the Far East and saw service in China until early April 1946. She returned to the United States and was decommissioned on 10 July 1946 and struck from the Navy list on 15 August that same year. On 17 September 1947, the ship was sold to Consolidated Builders, Inc., Seattle, Wash., for scrapping.

Did you know they celebrate Christmas in Kazakhstan? I'd thought otherwise. This is the moment a reckless late-night joyride ended in festive chaos after a driver smashed into a 40ft Christmas tree in Kazakhstan. The crash flattened the Christmas tree in the middle of the town’s deserted main square in Sarayagash. Cops said the incident unfolded at around 3am, when a battered Lada (That's the equivalent of a Russian Cadillac) was seen speeding into the central square.
CCTV footage shows the driver tearing around the open space in tight circles, apparently showing off and pushing the ageing car to its limits. Witnesses said the vehicle completed several fast loops around the square, tires screeching as it narrowly missed street furniture and festive decorations.

Poor, perverted Bill - the AI guys just can't help themselves when it comes to making fun of him, can they. It's really amazing how good they are at their craft, two. There's almost no way to tell if this is fugazi or not. Come to think of it, maybe this was part od that Epstein files dump. Uhoh, Billy - were you a bad boy one of the 20 or so times you were down there?

This is DJT's Press Decratary back in his first term in 2020 at the White House Christmas party. If you haven't noticed, she's quite the little package.
Cute as all giddup and sharp as a razor, too.

New York and New Jersey won't quite see a white Christmas this year, but it'll be a close call as a snowstorm is set to make its way into the region tomorrow.
Forecasters are becoming increasingly confident that snow will accumulate in the tri-state area Friday into Saturday. Some models are predicting as much as six inches of snow for the immediate New York City area.
