The vandalism, which risked permanent damage to the beloved UNESCO World Heritage site, was the environmental activist group’s latest stunt protesting climate change, specifically Italy’s opposition to including restrictions on fossil fuels in a deal struck at the COP30 summit in Brazil on Friday.
The group said it also dumped dye into lakes, canals, rivers and fountains in 10 cities around Italy, which it believes somehow will draw attention to what it calls “the massive effects of climate collapse.”
So, I gess their 'battle plan' is to fuck up the environment in order to save it?

ReplyDeleteAgree, it's vandalism. And yes, she should pen 6 mo in lockup for it. But. Keep some perspective. This was fluorescein, a common, widely used dye for tracing waterways. It'll bind to dirt in a couple days and degrade to colorless in a couple more (in the wild; it's pretty stable in the lab). It is literally harmless; a close chemical relative is a widely used OTC laxative. Don't exaggerate the panty-wadding; it detracts from the real issue (Greta's a twit and should face real sanctions).
