Santana was tripping. Michael Shrieve was insane. It was a Soul Sacrifice...

This - to me, anyway - is the hallmark act of the whole shebang. Funny thing is, and you really can't tell, but Santana himself was tripping balls after hanging backstage with Jerry Garcia and doin' a coupla buttons.
The real star of the gig though, was Michael Shreive - Santana's then-20 year old drummer. That's about as much intensity as your ever gonna see from somebody that young. He stayed with the group through their first seven albums, and quietly walked away...

Taking Woodstock is the funny, touching, and true story of Elliot Tiber,
the man who was instrumental in arranging the site for the original
Woodstock Concert. Elliot, whose parents owned an upstate New York
motel, was working in Greenwich Village in the summer of 1969.

  1. One of my ex-girlfriends uncle is Greg Rollie, who played organ for Santana and Journey. I asked him what is his proudest moment, Woodstock or being in the Rock and Roll HoF. He said, hands down, the memories from Woodstock. Cool guy.

Tidy up or pay the fiddler...

This house is about four blocks from my house, and, yes, it is a shithole. A Villager has been given one week to remove debris from his prop...
