I thought religious folk were supposed to be ''open-minded'. Guess not...

After the Church of England appointed a woman as the new Archbishop of Canterbury, conservative Anglicans around the world split from the historic institution. Sarah Mullally, the current bishop of London, is slated to become the top cleric in the Church of England next year, the first time a woman has held the historic office.
The Global Fellowship of Confessing Anglicans, also known as GAFCON, will therefore cease to recognize the authority of Canterbury over their denomination.
GAFCON is primarily composed of churches from the Global South, particularly Africa, along with conservative groups in North America, South America and Australia. GAFCON’s global presence includes African provinces such as the Church of Nigeria, the Anglican Church of Kenya, and the Church of Uganda and North American provinces including the Anglican Church in North America, which formed a split in the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Church of Canada.
Well, that sorta explains that, don't it?

  1. You're kidding, right? The word dogma should be a hint. Religions are usually pretty strict.

You've never been around Southern Baptists, have you?

  4. She's not ordained, so she shouldn't be a priest at all nor say mass. She's a leftist pushing trans and gay agendas. She loves the muslims. She has no problem defacing a centuries old church with graffiti by a non-Christian graffiti artist. She's at the forefront of the 'remove religion from our religion movement.' Moneys raised by her churches go to leftist causes like 'Save Palestine (and kill all the Jews in the world)" and such. She's also part of the anglican movement that actually questions the existence of, you know, God.

The only people she actually openly hates are conservative heterosexual couples with kids. You know, most of the congregations.

They could probably have done better electing an actual satanist, as at least a satanist believes in God.

  5. GAFCON is a great thing. If you're going to take Christianity seriously the Bible is to be taken seriously and the Anglicans stopped doing that a long time ago. That doesn't mean blind faith but it does mean acceptance of the order of things, the value of life and the need for a redeemer. it doesn't mean putting up with any sort of liberal bullshit that comes floating by but does mean manners are required when debating. I confess I don't do manners very well when I've had my fill of crap for the day. My work colleagues are amazed that I don't swear much but I'm a stinking fraud as when in private and things are not going well I'm pretty scruffy.

  6. Having seen so many brains fall out, I think the phrase 'open minded' is being misused.

  7. Putting women in a position of authority over men is a problem. Search the archives of your memory. You know this is true.
