How much money did they throw away on this bomb?

The Irishman reunited some of the greatest actors in film history, and the salaries reflected their legendary stature. Robert De Niro led the cast with $30 million, fitting his role as the film’s central figure and longtime Scorsese collaborator. Al Pacino earned $20 million, joining Scorsese for the first time in a historic pairing. Joe Pesci earned $3.5 million after being convinced out of retirement.
Harvey Keitel earned $1 million, adding gravitas to the film’s criminal underworld. Ray Romano earned $500K, delivering one of the film’s more understated yet memorable performances. Bobby Cannavale earned $400K, while Anna Paquin earned $350K for a role small in dialogue but powerful in emotional weight.
Stephen Graham earned $300K, anchoring key tension points in the plot. Jesse Plemons earned $300K, and Stephanie Kurtzuba earned $200K.
The salary structure emphasized legacy, prestige, and storytelling depth. The Irishman had a limited theatrical run, with its worldwide box office gross estimated at only in the area around $8 million against a budget of $159 million. Its primary release was on Netflix.
Reason for low box office: The film was given a very limited theatrical release because of disagreements between Netflix and traditional theaters about its release strategy.

Netflix's main goal was to drive new subscribers to its streaming service, 'not to maximize theatrical ticket sales'.
Netflix Viewership: The company announced that over 26 million accounts globally watched the film in its first seven days on the platform. There is no indication how much money Netflix lost on this disaster of a project...

  1. Did they even consider hiring any IRISHMEN?

  2. Since Bobby de Zero has made it clear he's a complete ass, I don't watch anything that involves him - no matter how much he's paid. Netflix can enjoy the loss.
