'Done correctly' is the definitive phrase, as in don't bother doing it, because it actually isn't nearly as safe as you might think. One out of every five pregancies came out of pulling out (pun intended). Pulling out is also considerably less effective than other types of contraception (IUDs, birth control pills, condoms, etc.).
It also doesn’t offer protection from sexually transmitted infections (STIs) as condoms do, but we're not talking about the clap, are we?
Still, the pull-out method is better than no birth control if you want to have sex, but you want to reduce your chance of getting some poor one-night-stand pregnant.


Like most things, it works right up until it doesn't.
