Strip clubs actually reduce crime? Oh - that's why you go...

Research on the topic has yielded mixed results. One study from Princeton University suggests a possible link between adult entertainment establishments and a reduction in sex crimes, proposing that they may offer a substitute for criminal behavior.
Another study found that while strip clubs were associated with violent crime, they were not significantly associated with sexual violence, except in counties with a higher proportion of "high-risk" clubs (e.g., full nudity policies, private rooms). The relationship is complex and requires further study to understand the underlying mechanisms.  It's better explained here.
