California leads the nation with 1.22 million manufacturing jobs, nearly double the next highest state.
Texas (970.6K), Ohio (687.5K), and Michigan (597.6K) also rank among the top manufacturing states.
Small states and territories like Wyoming (10.6K), Alaska (11.9K), and D.C. (1.2K) have the lowest manufacturing employment.

don't think it's a valid statistic; should be based on the number of individuals who are capable (age, gender) of performing a job manufacturing. then questions arise: is car repair manufacturing; is a dental technician (or a dentist, for that matter) involved in manufacturing? Have to define "manufacturing"!

ReplyDeleteBut we all hate Commiefornia, for a bunch of communists they're not doing too bad with the 4th largest economy in the world. They pay $83 billion more in federal taxes than they receive, technically they are supporting socialism for the rest of the US. They could and should seceded from the US and they'll be better off for it, sorry Texas. I do however agree that they have a a lot of fruitcakes over there...
ReplyDeleteTexas is behind California by only 230,000 manufacturing jobs. 1.2 million vs 971 thousand. That's not 'nearly double. That's almost a 1/5th more.
ReplyDeleteTexas is kicking Cali's ass. Compare manufacturing jobs vs population and Texas has far more manufacturing jobs per 1000 people than Cali has. And the manufacturing is leaving Cali.
