Knowing he was back on last night, I purposely searched out a leftie rag to see their take on it, and poof - right there on the front page of TheGuardian.com - is exactly what I was looking for.
Note how they couch shit. It was Trump who got him suspended. Disney was to blame for bowing to the hard right, etc., etc. No mention whatsoever of his reprehensible, jerkoff comments about Charlie Kirk and the public backlash he received. In the end he - and the leftie media - will always blame Trump. Of course they would, because they wouldn't know a real jerkoff like this guy if he spat in their faces. Juss' sayin'...

So me and an older guy (probably 85 or so) both get knocked out of yesterday afternoon's poker tournament at the same time and we're talking about the hand as we're walking out the door.
A car pulls up and the guy says to me: "This is my wife picking me up. Make like you weren't talking to me when she pulls up - just wave goodbye or something. I've had her convinced that I'm deaf for the last three years."
I have a new idol. The man is a genius.

Go ahead. Close your eyes and keep that image in your head. I know you can smell it and hear it even with your eyes closed. We were of a different breed - a different time. No cell phones, no tablets or electronic handhelds to keep us numbly occupied. We enjoyed simpler pleasures, and we're better off for having done so...

According to somebody who evidently thinks we give a shit, Michelob Ultra has become king of the hill among beer brands. Despite being considered a cheap beer to avoid - according to customer reviews (and ranking near the bottom of taste tests of America's top-selling beers) - by topping the sales by volume charts for 2025, it has ousted Modelo Especial as America's best-selling beer.
I'm no beer snob by any measure. I drink Heinekens when I can afford to splurge, I drink Miller Lite draft at the bar and Miller High Life at home. I know one guy - ONE - who drinks Ultra, and I've never met or even seen someone who drinks Modelo, so how the fuck could either of them be the country's numero uno selling beer. Fuck - I even look at any Anheuser product and I get an immediate headache.

And the reality is, New Jersey doesn't need
it's own PBS station. That's why...
New Jersey’s PBS station will be shut down next year following massive funding cuts from President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill.” WNET, its New York City-based parent company, said it would no longer operate NJ PBS when their agreement ends on June 30, 2026. When that time comes, New Jersey will be left without its own public television station unless it can secure a new nonprofit funding source. Employees were informed of the decision on Tuesday.
WNET, which took over operations in 2011 after then-Gov. Chris Christie eliminated state funding, said that once the current contract comes to an end, it will continue to produce New Jersey’s nightly newscast, “NJ Spotlight News.” That will air on New York’s PBS station, THIRTEEN, which is available in many New Jersey homes.

When pleasing the eye is as important as function...
This is what we're capable of. This is the old City Hall station on the IRT Lexington Avenue line of the NYC subway. The station was closed in the mid-1940s due to the physical limitations of the sharp curve and limited length of the station platform. Since then it exists as a time capsule to be visited on special tours under the auspices of the New York Transit Museum.

Having seen this photo for the first time yesteday, I had to do a bit of research about the Shaw. I'd never heard of it, nor ever seen reported that it was one of the ships in the harbor that was destroyed during the attack. Interesting...

I posted this yesterday and nobody noticed it.

It is clear with what happened to President Trump at the UN that they were causing things to happen to him. I believe the USA should limit money to all UN to $1 per year so we stay in the Security Council. I also believe we should end all money to foreign countries since we have so much debt.
ReplyDeleteStill don't get the plate. . .
ReplyDeleteUSS Shaw & Pearl Harbor - I went down a rabbit hole one weekend and ended up finding a plethora of pictures of the attack aftermath and the recovery efforts. Drachinifel has a youtube series that gets into depth about the efforts. There are also some public domain references that provide more information that I really wanted to know. For some not-light reading see Pearl Harbor: Why, How, Fleet Salvage and Final Appraisal

Well, at least "they" learned to never cut his teleprompter again.
ReplyDeleteLoved Skee Ball. Homebrewed for 30 years and pretty good at it. One of my buds has Ultra on tap for BS sessions on the porch. I bring my own preferring a German Oktoberfest/Marzen. Everybody in Idaho drinks Modelo. Their grain comes from Eastern Idaho. I prefer Negra Modelo especially in a Mexican restaurant. They are numerous here including food trucks.
ReplyDeleteIn re the license plate photo.....I noticed it, and my comment was the same as it is now:
ReplyDeleteSaint Jus Six? I don't get it.

DeleteI noticed it and didn't give a F*ck
Delete"How did it happen?"
ReplyDeleteI stepped on an escalator once with the toes of my shoes out past the step. As the step in front of me rose up, the toes of my shoes curved upward. I was preoccupied with what was around me and didn't pay much attention to my shoes or the escalator. When I reached the top and the step started to drop down, there was resistance from my shoes and the escalator stopped. We were going up one more flight, so I stepped on the escalator the same way on the next flight and shut that one down too. Not saying this was how it happened at the UN, but that is all it takes, unless they have changed things since the time I shut it down.
