Monopoly is more than just a board game, but they're necessary sometimes...

Google will not have to sell its Chrome web browser but must share information with competitors, a US federal judge has ordered. The remedies decided by District Judge Amit Mehta have emerged after a years-long court battle over Google's dominance in online search.
The case centred around Google's position as the default search engine on a range of its own products such as Android and Chrome as well as others made by the likes of Apple. The US Department of Justice had demanded that Google sell Chrome - Tuesday's decision means the tech giant can keep it but it will be barred from having exclusive contracts and must share search data with rivals.

What's the moral of this story? Easy. If you are so good at what you do that you just pound the crap out of your competition, some jerkoff'll come along with their lawyers and try to pull the stool out from under ya. So - when's the last time you used Bing or Yahoo, huh?

  2. Just give your search engine a weird stupid name like 'BING", and I am sure the competition will be able to catch up.
Microsoft: if you can't do it, sue it.

  3. The thing about DuckDuckGo and Brave and so on is that THEY SEARCH GOOGLE.

Nice if people want to keep their Internet searches secret...I'm a writer. I search everything. But I want full search results, not a robot's selection of about one-tenth of the search, often annoyingly tucked below a plagiarism-bot's attempt to summarize them.

The "We're more ethical than Google" search engines are no earthly good to me.

  4. I always use Bing. It just works and isn't slanted in politics like Google is. Yeah, it's a Microsoft product but it works and it's free.

Tidy up or pay the fiddler...

This house is about four blocks from my house, and, yes, it is a shithole. A Villager has been given one week to remove debris from his prop...
