A magic moment before shipping off?

And then there's actress Gene Tierney, considered by many to be the most beautiful leading lady from the Golden Age of Hollywood, was part of the war-time organization known as the Naval Aid Auxiliary, which set up a series of stations across the country that would provide entertainment and temporary housing for servicemen and sailors in the middle of their transfer from one location to another.
Gene also criss crossed the country during World War II, doing hundreds of events to raise money and boost morale of the troops. "We all needed to do our part to support our boys overseas," she said of her efforts. "It was the least we could do."
